Causes of Pet Dermatology Issues

Diagnostic steps commonly include microscopic examinations of material from the kin and ears, fungal and/or bacterial cultures, skin biopsies, and allergy testing.
Potential causes of skin issues include:
- Infections either in cuts, skin folds, or floppy ears
- Food allergies, which can develop throughout life
- Parasites such as fleas, ticks, lice, ear mites, or mange mites
- Environmental allergies such as pollen, dust, mold, and plants
